Begun as an op-ed in the London Review of Books, this piece was reprinted under the title “Week Day Warriors” in Women’s Review of books. A longer version won the Red Hen Press Nonfiction Award, 2003 (in private section of this site) and was reprinted by Australia’s Spinifex press alongside commentary from the world’s leading feminist voices – including Barbara Kingsolver, Naomi Klein, and Arundhati Roy.
